Dan Healy is a gifted and accomplished singer songwriter, actor and creative. Hailing from Loch Lomond in Scotland Dan began his musical journey at 15, and was named “Songwriter to watch out for” in the Scottish Daily Record’s new artist section. He went on to release his 4 track EP, “Fragile” which received critical acclaim.
In 2017 Dan was Signed as a staff writer for Concord Publishing (MarkRonson, Daft Punk, George Harrison) Wrote 6 songs on Ronan Keating’s album “Time Of My life” and 2 songs on Ronan’s album “2020”. He has also collaborated with Lewis Capaldi, The Shires, Josh Gray, Sean Kennedy and Professor Green. Dan Wrote the Theme song for the Charles Darwin 2020 Documentary, “Galapagos” with world renowned songwriter Peter Vetesse (Jethro Tull, The Eurithmics, Sia). In 2016 he co-wrote 6 songs on Ronan Keating’s album “Time of My Life” and two brand new songs on Ronan’s latest album “2020”. Dan wrote and recorded the song “The Forgotten Ones” where he brought together, remotely, the NHS Lewisham And Greenwich choir. The song was written and released with a music video featuring over 200 members of the public in order to raise money for ‘NHS Charities Together’s Covid 19 Urgent Appeal’. His latest single “Stand Together” has just been released.
As a musician, Dan is the rhythm guitarist touring the world in Ronan Keating’s session band “The Shams”.
Along side music, he has also had a successful career as an actor. Dan played the lead role of “Guy” in the first ever UK tour of “ONCE” the musical (Winner of The Oscar For best Song in a movie, 8 Tony awards on broadway and 2 Oliver awards in London). He also played legendary Beatles Songwriter “Paul McCartney” in the stage production of “Backbeat” which played for a year in London’s West End, Toronto and Los Angeles.
In the wake of Covid 19, Dan set about using his creative talents and contacts to give songwriters a platform to showcase their music with his online production “The Balcony Open Mic”. He has featured over 30 acts from all over the world in the past 2 months including artists from Romania, England, Australia, Sweeden, Scotland, The US, Ireland and New Zealand.
After performing with Ronan Keating at the Teleferic Hotel and the Cerbul De Our festival, Dan fell in love in and with Romania. Although he is originally from Glasgow, Bucharest is now his base for writing, production and performance. With years of experience at the top levels in the UK music and theatre industry, this talented, dynamic performer, producer and creative is preparing to showcase his songwriting, performing and creative talent to a Romanian audience.
In 2021 Dan will release his Debut album.
